Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson and Miles Teller shine in James Gray’s electrifying, Cannes-selected crime thriller.

New York in 1986. Irwin Pearl (Miles Teller) works hard at his engineering job, and is a devoted husband to his wife Hester (Scarlett Johansson) and their two children. When his older brother (Adam Driver), who has left his job with the police to work in the private sector, approaches him with a lucrative proposition to work together, Irwin has his reservations. He eventually sees the potential in matching his brother’s ability to schmooze clients with his technical experience and agrees to come on board, looking for a chance at a better, more secure life.

However, he quickly finds out the project has ties to the Russian mob, and late one night after deciding to take his boys to the worksite, they catch the Russians doing something they shouldn’t have seen, and an avalanche of repercussions threatens to devastate the family.

A riveting thriller from Gray, Paper Tiger, critiques the American Dream, and delves into the complexities inherent within family loyalty and expectation to tell a powerful story.
