Everyone has a reason to celebrate, to recognise and reward, to showcase or to simply surround yourself with a group of friends and family. To enjoy the latest blockbusters, art house, classics and retrospectives or to use a luxurious, unique and engaging space to present to your clients or team. At Dendy Cinemas we can accommodate small groups of ten people up to large groups of 250+ people, for a variety of occasions. If your event is a little bit out of the box, we can even tailor-make a package just for you.

Located within the iconic Canberra Centre North Quarter, Dendy Canberra offers fifteen state-of-the-art cinemas in stylish comfort and surroundings. Our cinemas are fully licensed and are suitable for groups of all sizes, with theatres seating from 81 up to 375 people and including wheelchair access and seating. We can also supply a range of food and beverage options, including platters and candy bar packages for you and your guests.

Dendy Canberra also has two Premium Lounge cinemas with full in-cinema dining. Your guests can mingle in the exclusive private lounge whilst being treated to locally and imported beer and wines along with our gourmet seasonal menu. Once inside the cinema, guests can relax in our fully reclinable leather armchairs. Take your event up a level and have your guests movie like the stars they are with the ultimate movie experience.

Can we book our screening to start anytime we like?

We do need to fit venue hire screenings into our standard cinema session schedule. We provide recommended times which are flexible depending on the approval of the Events Manager per booking.

Can we hire an auditorium for a presentation?

Absolutely! Our state of the art auditoriums can be hired for corporate presentations and product launches. For a reservation and quote, please contact the Events Manager at the preferred location.

Do you offer discounts for group bookings?

At Dendy Cinemas groups of 10 or more receive admission discounts, which vary based on total number of tickets purchased. Please note, this form of booking does not give you private cinema use, or the option of in-cinema presentations, however catering and candy bar deals can be negotiated. To organise your group booking please contact us.

For smaller groups we suggest purchasing a booklet of 10 Dendy Cinema Tickets from the box office. Buying books of 10 allows you to access a discounted ticket price, though it does not allow for private cinema use or in-cinema presentations. Catering and candy bar deals can be negotiated in advance. To purchase a booklet of 10 discounted vouchers for group use, please contact us.

What days are venue hire bookings accepted?

Cinema hires are subject to availability and are generally available 7 days a week from 9am - 10pm (ending at midnight). Off-Peak times are Monday - Wednesday, and Peak times are Thursday - Sunday. Special requests on negotiation.

Does Dendy help promote our event?

Whilst we can ensure your event runs smoothly on the day, we do not assist with publicity and promotions for private bookings..

Can we sell tickets from your website?

This option is not available at all sites. Please contact the Events Manager at the preferred location.

Are there extra costs associated with having a catered function with the screening?

Yes there are. To help us prepare a quote, please contact our Dendy Events Coordinator CanberraEvents@dendy.com.au

Can we watch any footage?

Yes, you can. We can screen the latest Dendy releases, but also your favourite golden oldie, your home movies, or even a TV show. We will always need to make sure that we have the footage in the correct format for our projectors, and that copy rights are taken care of, which may result in financial fees. Send our event manager your special request and we can help you create your perfect night out.

How far in advance do I have to make my booking?

In cinema we are quite flexible, but dependent on availability. For group bookings, tickets become available on Tuesday at 4pm for the week following Thursday.

For an event, you can contact us about two weeks in advance, which should give us enough time to work through all your details together. The further you plan ahead though, the bigger the chance you can make a reservation on the day you would like to hold your event.
