Through spectacular sequences featuring coral reefs, kelp forests and the open ocean, Attenborough shares why a healthy ocean keeps the entire planet stable and flourishing.
WHAT IS WORLD OCEAN DAY?
World Ocean Day, celebrated annually on June 8, is a global event that raises awareness about the vital role oceans play in our lives and the importance of protecting them. It was officially recognised by the United Nations in 2008. The day focuses on issues such as marine pollution, overfishing, climate change impacts on the ocean, ocean conservation and sustainable use of marine resources. This year's theme, ""Wonder: Sustaining what sustains us," highlights the awe-inspiring nature of the ocean and the importance of protecting it for future generations.
